Yesterday, I found my old bungy video that I posted on youtube. I could still remember every little detail of how thrilling and nerve-wrecking that experience was to me. It was the greatest and most exciting event in my life, I would never forget.
The best part of having this experience as a teacher is, you can share it with your students! This is what I did with my students yesterday.
Students level - Low-intermediate
Time - 80 minutes
Topic - Sports
Theme - Extreme activity
By the end of the lesson, students should be able to
1) State 1 exciting event in their lives
2) Write 4 reasons why the event is exciting
Set induction - Show two videos of bungy jumping from youtube. One is 'Mat Salleh's' and the other one is mine. (The students will be impressed when you show your own video doing the extreme activity. It works on my students every time.)

Lesson 1 - Brainstorming on extreme activities around the world. (Vocab - Paint-ball mission, Kayaking, Jungle-trekking, Camping, Hiking)
- Choose one extreme activity the students have experienced.
Lesson 2 - Write four reasons why they like the activity.
- Assist troubled students with questioning methods
- i.e Where do you do the activity? Who do you join the activity with? How much is the cost? When do you join the activity?
Closure - Brainstorming on the benefits of joining the activities.
My students asked so many questions about the video. They were excited to try bungy jumping as well. So, I took the opportunity to advise them on the importance of taking the school seriously and excel in their public exam.
